Flux-limited solutions for quasi-convex Hamilton-Jacobi equations on networks

چکیده
We study Hamilton-Jacobi equations on networks in the case where Hamiltonians are quasi-convex with respect to the gradient variable and can be discontinuous with respect to the space variable at vertices. First, we prove that imposing a general vertex condition is equivalent to imposing a specific one which only depends on Hamiltonians and an additional free parameter, the flux limiter. Second, a general method for proving comparison principles is introduced. This method consists in constructing a vertex test function to be used in the doubling variable approach. With such a theory and such a method in hand, we present various applications, among which a very general existence and uniqueness result for quasi-convex HamiltonJacobi equations on networks. A Paraxial Formulation for the Viscosity Solution of Quasi-P Eikonal Equations
Stationary quasi-P eikonal equations, stationary Hamilton-Jacobi equations, arise from the asymptotic approximation of anisotropic wave propagation. A paraxial formulation of the quasi-P eikonal equation results in a paraxial quasi-P eikonal equation, an evolution Hamilton-Jacobi equation in a preferred direction, which provides a fast and efficient way for computing viscosity solutions of quas...
متن کاملA note on admissible solutions of 1D scalar conservation laws and 2D Hamilton-Jacobi equations
Let Ω2 be an open set and fC2() with f” > 0. In this note we prove that entropy solutions of Dtu+Dxf(u) = 0 belong to SBVloc(Ω). As a corollary we prove the same property for gradients of viscosity solutions of planar Hamilton–Jacobi PDEs with uniformly convex Hamiltonians. متن کاملFast Sweeping Algorithms for a Class of Hamilton-Jacobi Equations
We derive a Godunov-type numerical flux for the class of strictly convex, homogeneous Hamiltonians that includes H(p; q) = pap2 + bq2 2 pq; 2 < ab: We combine our Godunov numerical fluxes with a simple GaussSeidel type iterations for solving the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi Equations. The resulting algorithm is fast since it does not require a sorting strategy as does the fast marching method....
متن کامل[hal-00327496, v1] Uniqueness results for convex Hamilton-Jacobi equations under $p>1$ growth conditions on data
Unbounded stochastic control problems may lead to Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations whose Hamiltonians are not always defined, especially when the diffusion term is unbounded with respect to the control. We obtain existence and uniqueness of viscosity solutions growing at most like o(1+ |x|p) at infinity for such HJB equations and more generally for degenerate parabolic equations with a superli...
